To meet their objective, the team implemented a performance-driven approach that combined precise targeting with creative execution. Target CPA bidding was used to optimize for efficient installs, while campaign targeting focused specifically on English-speaking users with iOS devices running versions 15 through 18. Two user flows were tested: one that drove users directly to the app store for a streamlined install experience, and another that used a prelander page to build trust and guide users from web to app. Creatives featured bold, text-forward messaging emphasizing key benefits of the VPN, such as enhanced privacy, virus protection, and improved phone speed.
